Notícias do nosso Agrupamento

On 10th January, 2020, a field trip to Cabo Espichel was organized for the 10A e 10B classes. The meeting point was scheduled for 8.30 am in front of the entrance gate of the Daniel Sampaio Secondary School, thus starting this field trip. Following a long journey to the destination, a questionnaire was handed to each student to be filled in during the trip. The first stop was at Praia da Foz da Fonte, where the division between the rocks of the Lower Cretaceous (Aptiano-Albiano) and the Lower Miocénico (Burdigaliano) was observed. At the end of this stop it was possible to see abundant old lava streams. Meanwhile, the classes responded to their questionnaires.

On 10th January 2020 the classes A and B from 10th grade, went on a trip to Cabo Espichel, Sesimbra. The main purpose of this outing was to consolidate the Geology contents which had been previously taught in class. Around 8:30 am both classes met our teachers next to the school’s main gate. Shortly after, we left by bus towards Praia da Foz da Fonte. When we arrived, the walk started! This group of students was accompanied by three teachers:  Biology and Geology, Physics and Chemistry and Physical Education.

On 10th January, there was a school trip to Praia da Foz da Fonte, Jazida de Lagosteiros, Jazida da Pedra da Mua and to Pedreira do Avelino. This school trip connected a big variety of subjects, which included: Geology, Physics, Portuguese, English and Physical Education. It started around half-past eight in the morning at the meeting point, the school entrance. We went by bus to the first stop, near Praia da Foz da Fonte, where the Geology teacher gave us all the information we needed for the day and a couple of questions to answer along the trip.

On Friday, 10th January 2020 the students from classes 10A and 10B went on a field trip to Cabo Espichel, within the subject of Geology and Biology. We left school at 8:30 am and headed straight to Praia da Foz da Fonte. Most of the journey was made by bus, but we still had to walk a lot.On our first stop, at the aforementioned beach, we were able to see the effects of erosion on the rocks over time, particularly how the wind and water, characteristic of the coast shaped the scenery, creating a cliff over the beach. We also saw many shellfish fossils dating back to lower cretaceous and lower Miocene.
